The girls finished writing lab 8 this week and have displayed their work in our hallways. They worked hard to create a friendship machine that would bring people together and spread the love. Check out details below:

In addition to some Valentine's Day math, this week we compared fractions and put them in order from least to greatest. We used fraction strips to help! Mrs. Applewhite brought the fun this week with a fraction mystery game. Ask your daughter to tell you more!

We are having so much fun during our states and regions of the US unit! Today we even brought out some new board games to play. Next week, the girls will bring home flashcards to study. On next Friday they will be expected to identify where each NE region state is located and the capital.

On Wednesday, the girls visited the Middle School for a quick preview of their foreign language options for next year. They spent 15 minutes in each classroom to get a peak into each class.

I know the girls are excited to celebrate Valentine's Day. It'll be here before we know it! I told the girls they may bring in a decorated shoe box to collect their valentines from their classmates. They may get as creative as they'd like. Please send in mailboxes and valentines on Monday, the 13th. We will exchange valentines and enjoy a treat on the 14th. Here is our class list

We did a mini unit this week on area and perimeter! The girls have a solid foundation of this concept and we had some fun with different area and perimeter games. Next up, fractions!

The study of our US regions is underway and the Northeast region was our focus last week.

We had time for a 3WT last week and they were more creative than ever. See if your daughter can tell you more:) Their writing will come home on Thursday.
