Weekly Update

  I loved meeting many grandparents this morning! I know it is a big weekend of excitement. I look forward to seeing everyone at Daisy Days tomorrow! Pictures from Grandparent's Day!

 

Costume Information for Musical:


Dalmatians - black or white leggings
Roger - black leggings or pants
Cruella - black long sleeve t shirt and black leggings
Nanny- black shirt, black leggings
Corgis - brown, tan, or black leggings
Scotties - black leggings
Boxers - brown or black leggings
Poodles - gray or white leggings and long sleeve t-shirt (any combination of the two will work).
Sergeant Tibbs - Black leggings, black t shirt
Police officer - black leggings, white t shirt
Dog catcher - khaki pants or tan pants/leggings

Please bring these items to school in a paper bag labeled with the students name by Tuesday 5/2.

  • Special Week: Colston
  • Rehearsals for the musical are in full swing. Expect some very tired girls on these days and please help them to remember to pack hearty snacks to sustain energy through the day. Rehearsal schedule here.
  • On Wednesday, May 3rd, the girls will have a "moving up day" in Middle School. There is nothing special to do in preparation.
  • May 10 at 9:30am: Fourth Grade Musical for parents
  • Our class will visit the library for the Book Fair on Thursday, May 11, from 8:30-8:50. Please join us in the library or send in money with your daughter.
  • Final Assembly: June 1 from 11-12

Weekly Update

 

Upcoming Reminders:
  1. Rehearsals for the musical begin next week. Click here for the schedule.
  2. Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day is next Friday, April 28. The fourth grade timeline is as follows:
    1. 8:30 - 9:00: “Grandparent Carpool" Drop-off is in the Lower School Carpool Loop
    2. 9:00 - 9:50: Time in classroom
    3. 10:00 - 10:30: Performance in Endeavour Hall
    4. 10:30: Early Dismissal from Classroom
  3. Information from the Middle School about Fifth Grade Orientation
  4. Our class will visit the library for the Book Fair on Thursday, May 11, from 8:30-8:50. Please join us in the library or send in money with your daughter.
  5. Final Assembly will take place on Thursday, June 1 from 11:00 - 12:00 for grades K-4. The girls should wear nice clothes for this occasion. They may wear a dress, skirt, or nice pants. They do not need to wear white for this.
  6. The Middle School Spanish classes are supporting the Pulsera Project. If your daughter would like to purchase a bracelet or purse please send in money next week. Bracelets are $7 each and purses are $15.

Weekly Update


I'm sure you all received a play by play of the awesome time in D.C. yesterday! I was with the girls in spirit while home with my sick child. Thank you to Christina Shepard and Katherine Applewhite for documenting this fun day. Pictures HERE.

Before the field trip, we talked about the history of D.C. and things they would see. We also watched a few short clips from the Portrait Gallery to prepare for our trip. These girls certainly soaked up all of the information and asked well thought questions throughout the day. 

Last week's writing lab focused on imagery. Check out the writing lab details below. Ask your daughter to show their final draft in their Google Classroom.
