Can you believe the awesome masterpiece above was created by our class? The girls were each given a puzzle piece to color and make their own, not knowing what picture it would become. As soon as they saw the word "Dream", they knew exactly what I was up to. We had fun learning about the amazing like of MLK through a Webquest of questions highlighting his importance.
This week's Writing Lab was a special one. The girls partnered up with fourthies in different classes and interviewed each other. We talked about the difference between "little questions" and "big questions". Ask your daughter to tell you more about this! We learned how remembering the acronym FANBOYS and commas will help us when writing compound sentences. Next week the girls will use a fun site to take their information from the interview and turn it into a magazine cover.
On Thursday, we celebrated National Popcorn day with popcorn and some math challenges. Ask your daughter to tell you her "sHERO name". We are also moving right along in our Geometry Unit. Equilateral, isosceles, and scalene triangles were introduced this week!
We took a quick break to enjoy the salsa dancing event on campus!
